The Gift of Counseling

When someone you care about experiences a bereavement, it is often difficult to know how to be supportive, without being insensitive or intrusive.

Simply letting them know that they are in your thoughts will certainly be a comfort, but if you are geographically remote from them, the opportunities to be physically present and supportive may be limited.

Studies have shown that even the most robust and resilient individuals can benefit from professional support during the difficult and painful aftermath of a bereavement.

It is not a sign of weakness to accept such support, so consider offering them a single-hour session with me, to enable them to express their grief to someone who is qualified to guide them through the initial, acute, phase of their grief.
